WOMEN EQUALITY IS A MYTH

CONGRATS!!!!

Today is Women Equality day.

BUT can someone tell me, what the women want to be equal to!

I think one wants to be equal to someone whom one looks up to. Isn’t it.

On this day women got the right to vote in U.S. But I think only because men were already voting. I doubt had men not been voting, women would never have asked for voting rights.

What men already occupy, women also want to occupy the same space.

Following someone’s tail is not equality.

A woman getting the right to pray in Sabarimala is not equality, that's legal encroachment.

Women creating their own version of Sabarimala, establishing a female deity, female priest and menstruating women allowed policy, is the real equality I think.

The whole women equality movement is centered on only men.

Man is the fulcrum of this whole structure.

 Mathematically put..

W=f(M)

Man moves right women want to move right, man takes a left women also will follow left.

And we become happy thinking we are equals.

We have not been able to create something independent of men.

We have not created anything where man wants to grab women's space.

Men selfishly created everything centered on them, they did not consult women.

  • There are no sports created and solely dominated by women in which the men want to take entry.
  • There is no profession created and solely occupied by women in which the men want to apply.
  • There is no defense force solely created by women in which men want to join.
  • There is no stream of science created by women where they solely have the expertise and men come to learn.

We keep fighting we need 33% reservation for women in parliament and from whom we are asking this, the MEN.

And look, it has been years and Men have not been granted us this BOON.

And when someday, in a kind mood, they oblige us we will feel ecstatic that we are treated equals heyyyyyyyy....

Can't 50% women stand and win elections as independents and claim what they deserve.

But no, we will only rise when our lords bestow upon us their whole heartedness.

That's not equality I think.

Why can't we create our own space exclusive of men.

Why we behave like pokers interfering into others business.

Men take pride in what they think is their birth right.

Women are made to self-loath when she is taking care of house hold work, cooking food, cleaning utensils, washing clothes etc.

It’s not that women should not earn, but my whole point is why we want to earn in the fields created by men as per their preferences and strengths.

We will always play a second fiddle to them and waste our whole life in fighting for equality.

Man created Sunday and Saturday leaves because he does not menstruate.

  • Had women created a profession she would have given flexi holiday culture to this world.
  • Had women created a profession she would have made compassion the most rewarding parameter for appraisal.
  • Had women created a profession she would have made charity the bottom line of balance sheet.
  • Had women created a profession she would have made need based salary structure.
  • Had women created a profession she would have made 3 months mandatory recreational leaves policy.
  • Had women created a profession she would have made creativity the only eligibility of selection.
  • Had women created a profession she would have changedextra working hours' into ‘only family hours

I am not debating if such a company would have survived or not but we never gave it a try. We are even not doing good with present work structure anyway.

In the Indian concept of things women and men are not treated equal. They are treated DIFFERENT. They are said to be Paripurak (complementary) to each other.

They have their own areas or space of functioning and both take equal pride in their roles.

Let me share an example.

Fighting the war has always been the domain of men in Indian religious texts.

No ladies fought with Ravana’s army in Ramayana.

No Ladies fought in Kurukshetra in Mahabharata.

Women were busy managing the homely affairs of the kings and Kingdom.

They never got into these wars as it was nor in their domain neither of their interest.

But it’s not they never got into a war.

We all know Shri Rama fought, defeated Ravana and rescued Devi Sita.

But many may not know there was another war in Ramayana which was fought by Devi Sita to save Shri Rama.

Yesss..

Ravana had seven brothers and two sisters.

He had an elder brother named Sahastra Ravana.

Who had 1000 hands and 1000 heads, so imagine how much more powerful he would have been than Ravana.

He planned to launch an attack on Shri Rama to avenge the death of his younger brother.

When Shri Rama came to know of this, he decided to fight him. After all he already was feeling confident after defeating Ravana.

Once the war started, it was deadlier than the Lanka war. Shri Rama, Lakshmana and Hanumana were all finding it difficult to contain Sahastra Ravana.

Eventually Sahastra Ravana managed to hit Shri Rama with a celestial weapon and made him unconscious.

Now here comes the entry of Devi Sita.

Seeing her husband fall on ground unconscious, made her so angry and furious that she forgot her soft image and let out the destructive force within her to take over.

She within no time assumed the shape of Great Goddess of Destruction the Devi KALI.

Then what!!

The way she slayed Sahastra Ravana was as if he was just a speck of dust.

And the same Devi Sita could not kill Ravana, amusing isn’t it.

Per se it’s not the quality of the womanhood to be aggressive till she knows her protector is there.

Only when it comes to her loved ones, she takes the shape of KALI and then even the great Gods search for shelter.

Everywhere in Hindu scriptures a Devi had to fight or Kill a Daitya only when it was beyond the scope of Devtas.

Therefore there was a mutual respect. Gods knew Goddesses were indispensable

They were incomplete without each other.

Devi did not need to fight with their male counterparts for equality.

Today's equality movement lacks the element of mutual respect, I feel.

Would like to CONCLUDE by saying...

We women should also identify what’s the best we can offer to this world which men can't.

God does have made something special in us to share with the world.

Let’s be first hand females rather than second hand males.

I know its controversial. But isn't that what we women like.

Many will agree or disagree. I respect both, but let’s take the conversation forward.
